Lost 1kg in one week
11th June (Wed) En En fell sick last Tues. The little one was giving out watery stool and I thought it was her pasty stool mix with her urine. But then Wed, watery stool again! She was diarraho-ing 7 times on Thurs and 6 times on Fri. Gosh!
I was only informed about it on Fri morning but I couldn't take leave coz office was shorthanded and JR was on course. So JR and I rushed En En down to The Kid's Clinic at Rivervale Mall immediately after our work/ course. Had wanted to look for Dr Lilian Lim but she's off shift. We saw Dr Allyson Tan instead. We waited from 9pm till 11.45pm. Dr Tan diagnosed that BB En caught stomach flu. HUH?! No wonder she LS after every feed and drink. I should have insisted on going off from work to bring the little one to see PD earlier... then she wouldn't have to LS till her buttock red and sore... so guilty about it...
The little one didn't recover still on Sat. She LS-ed 4 times in the morning. We rushed her down to The Kids Clinic again in the afternoon. Dr Tan prescribed a stronger medicine but she cautioned us that bb might not be able to tahan the medicine. If the little one has any discomfort from taking the medicine, need to get medical advice (???). Think she meant have to go to hospital. Of course I won't let her take the medicine in this case! The nurse advised us to change to soy milk to see if it help. We bought Isomil Advance for the little one. The little one doesn't take to it. She threw up the whole bottle of milk almost immediately after her feed. Maybe coz jus prior to it, I gave her too much water. Haiz...
BB En was still LS-ing on Sun and she was refusing milk and water feed. Drinking only about 300ml instead of the normal daily 800ml. Think maybe she'll feel uncomfy after feeds, thats why not drinking. She was crying on and off and wanted to be carried around. So heart pain to see the little one suffer. The little one didn't get any better so JR and I decided to take urgent leave on Monday to bring her to Dr Ong at TMC.
We reached Dr Ong's clinic at 9am and waited till about 1pm. BB En was abit lethargic already. Dr Ong advised us to continue with the soy milk and gave us another prescription. We were also told to give her only rice water or barley water to stop the watery stool. BB En stopped LS-ing but she's still not drinking her feed and water plus she's crying from the discomfort. She's also not sleeping well ... waking up after half an hr's nap (on and off). Stress...!
I decided to take another day off from work to look after the little one and also to orientate my mom on how to feed her medicine and to prepare her diet. BB En was more active yesterday but she still want people to carry her to give her comfort. She's still not feeding and sleeping well ! Sigh... My poor Bao Bei... her muscles and "lotus" all gone =(
Today I've to return to work coz office is shorthanded. I can only monitor her situation via phone. Seems that she's more smiley and active today, according to my mom and dad. Drinking and sleeping better as well. Hope she recovers totally soon ! Didn't go down to see Bao Bei today coz I am tired out and my mom asks me to rest and take care of my own health first. I'll need all the energy to take care of the little one during weekend. It'll be dreadful if both my mom and I are tired out... there'll then be nobody to look after her.
Can't wait for the little one to recover back to her bubbly self =S
